Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025

Goodwood Festival of Speed. An absolutely iconic event that draws people in Worldwide. There is no other event quite like it worldwide. This is not my first attendance, nor will it be my last. Being able to see cars of every age, across every genre of motorsport, from your GT3 to Endurance Hypercars, Rally, F1, and even your everyday run-around. This year was the first time I attended on a Thursday. The event runs from Thursday through to Saturday, with different start times for cars speeding up the hill or around the rally track. Previous years have been on a Friday attendance, and there was quite a difference. The most significant difference was found at the GAS stage. Here you can expect the latest tricks by BMX riders as well as stunt motorcyclists. The Thursday event, although an impressive show by the BMX team, it was definitely the warm-up day for them, a short display along with a game of How High can you Jump! Same concept as the classic Limbo, just instead of not knocking off the pole by going underneath, this was a case of jumping over the top. Impressive with some great tricks, but definitely missed a big show by the Motorcyclist stunt team. FOS is always a great event even without the big GAS display on the Thursday. The hillclimb is always great, but I am not as bothered by the timed event, more absorbing the sight and sounds of the different cars as they make their way up the hill. It was a great moment to capture a few great shots of some rather well known drivers heading up the hill. They might not be at the top of the Championship but seeing Gabriel Bortoleto and others up the hill in cars of previous years is always a highlight of the day.
