A Wedding in Brighton & The Garden Bar, Hove
Brighton & Hove is a truly wonderful place to get married, offering the perfect balance of vibrant city life, iconic architecture, and that unmistakable seaside charm. It’s a location where everyone can relax and enjoy the day, and on this occasion we were treated to beautiful weather, making it all the more special.
The ceremony itself took place at the magnificent Brighton Town Hall, right in the heart of the city. This is a venue I always love returning to. It’s ideal for smaller, more intimate celebrations while still offering a sense of grandeur and elegance that makes the occasion feel truly special. From the moment you step inside, the building provides a timeless backdrop that suits weddings of all styles.
One of the standout features of Brighton Town Hall is the variety of beautiful spots it offers for both couple portraits and group photographs. The grand staircase, in particular, is absolutely stunning for imagery. It creates a classic, romantic setting that’s perfect for capturing natural, elegant moments together. And being indoors, it’s a brilliant option in all weather conditions—whether the sun is shining or the skies are a little more dramatic, there’s always a gorgeous place to create lasting memories.
Our journey then took a Big Red Regency Bus to The Garden Bar, Hove. A beautiful bus that accommodated the entire party, granted a few with standing room only. This was a quirky and wonderful moment of the day.
The Garden Bar in Hove was the perfect destination for the wedding reception, and we were lucky enough to be blessed with beautiful weather throughout the day. From the moment guests arrived, the venue made an impression. The exterior is full of charm—an old character building framed by greenery, with plants dotted around that immediately set a relaxed, welcoming tone.
Step inside and the character continues. The interior is cosy and full of personality, featuring a gorgeous fireplace and a collection of quirky decorative accents that give the space a unique, intimate feel. It’s the kind of venue that feels effortlessly stylish without being overly formal, making it ideal for a laid-back yet thoughtfully planned celebration.
The majority of the reception took place outside in the garden, which was closed to the public for the occasion, allowing guests to enjoy a more private and personal atmosphere. There was plenty of seating available, from covered booths for those wanting a quieter moment to benches spread throughout the garden, perfect for mingling and relaxed conversations. The outdoor BBQ was a fantastic addition, keeping everyone together and adding to the sociable, informal vibe of the day. Despite feeling intimate, the garden was surprisingly spacious and worked beautifully for hosting all the guests comfortably.
As the evening drew in, celebrations moved back inside for the cake cutting. By this point, the band had set up and were ready to lead straight into the first dance. The indoor space quickly filled with energy, creating an incredibly lively and joyful atmosphere. The intimacy of the room only added to the excitement, with music, laughter, and dancing carrying on well into the evening. It was clear that everyone had a fabulous time, rounding off a truly memorable day in a wonderful venue.
